project description with photos available here [pdf file]
Feeding residents of the Bahay Bata Street Children Center and malnourished children from two of the poorest Barangay adjacent to the Center who attend the Center's Learning Center. Feeding these children daily nutritional meals is an on-going concern of the Rotary Club of Clark Centennial. From its own funds and from donations abroad, the club is able to sustain 6 months to one school year of daily supplemental feeding to the Center residents and the children from outside. However, the volume of undernourished children and associated cost increase every year as the school accepts new students and the Center accepts new residents. The clamor for supplemental feeding besets every Rotary Club in the district, year after year. The Rotary Club of Clark Centennial will undertake the daily feeding of about 65 resident and non-resident children, for one school year or 10 months. The RC Clark Centennial members, Center faculty and teachers will be involved and will take part in the program, not only for the feeding but for education purposes.
The Rotary Club of Clark Centennial will continue funding this project through
on-going fund raising efforts and donations generated by the Angeles City
Bahay Bata Street Children Foundation, Inc.
The project partner, Longniddry and District Rotary Club, District 1020 Scotland,
will be invited to visit the project and participate in the feeding whenever
they can. Host and international partners communicate directly by means of
email or fax messages. Progress reports and pictures will be shared regularly
with the international partners
